Generally of higher quality, you'll need to shell out more for orthopedic beds than for the regular ones.

Raised dog beds:

These are often called as dog couches and look like sofas with height and size variations. They are raised with wood or metal frames just like a sofa and fitted with cushions of varying quality, even orthopedic. Dog couches can come with backrests and headrests just like the real thing and you can even match it to your own sofa.

Kennel dog beds:

If you have a dog kennel or crate that your dog uses often, you can fit a kennel bed right into it. Kennel dog beds are made in dimensions that fit most kennels and crates. They can make for a cozy retiring place for your dog.

Covered dog beds:

Deluxe beds covered up like a house are the coziest of dog beds especially when it's too cold. The housing can either be made of bedding material or using wicker to cut cost.

Heated and cooling dog beds:

Cold weather can be harsh on dogs as you have seen with wailing puppies. Heating pads are a great way of providing them with extra warm comfort. Similarly in warm weather dogs need to cool themselves after playful activities. There are cooling beds available filled with water or gel to give immediate relief.

No holds barred designer beds are aplenty to pamper your pooch with. You can customize the bed right from material used to color of the cushion.

Travel dog beds:

These are foldable beds that you can pack in your luggage to travel long distance.
