Check for wear and tear
It is obvious that your dog has been nibbling on all the toys that you had got for him. Sometimes, these toys even bear ruthless scratching which leads to wear and tear. Check the condition of your dog's toys on a regular basis. If you feel that your dog's toys have been excessively worn out, it is time to chuck them away. Stuffed toys that are ripped apart or toys that have loose parts hanging here and there should be done away with. You should also throw away toys that have imbibed a foul odor.

Clean them up
While there are some dog toys that need to be thrown away, there are some that can still be used. Dog toys that are still in a usable state should be cleaned off and on. Different dog toys need to be cleaned in different ways for appropriate cleansing and sanitization.

Stuffable toys- There are various dog toys and dog kongs that are stuffed with food. Such dog toys should be cleaned on a regular basis. These dog toys are stuffed with food that may get into small cervices of these toys. This food accumulates and invites bacteria which can easily get transferred to your pet resulting in health issues. To avoid these health issues use an old toothbrush, dish soap and hot water to clean these toys.

Nylon and rubber toys - A toy cleaning toothbrush can be used for this purpose. However, if you do not have one, you can also make use of an old toothbrush. Alternatively you can also make use of dish soap and hot water to clean these toys. Rubber toys can also be washed in the dishwasher. Just put these toys in the hottest cycle of the dishwasher with no detergent and these toys will be cleaned in the best possible manner.

Plush toys - Though you can clean these dog toys in the dish washer, the best way to clean them is wet them and place them in the microwave. Make sure that you do not place these dog toys in the microwave for long. Putting the toys in the microwave kills the deadly bacteria and sanitizes them.
