Dog cage: This is the most elementary type of dog transport and yet the most reliable one as well. A dog cage is usually meant for large dogs and it also needs ample amount of storage in the travelling vehicle. Hence, it is best for those who have a SUV or a mini-truck. However, this is dangerous and can cause an accident. The safest way to transport your dog in a car is in a dog car seat. Dog Back-pack and Front Carriers: If you are hiking or strolling around in a town and have brought your puppy or less agile dog along then a back-pack carrier is the best way to stop it from running around. Shoulder Dog Carriers: These dog carriers are fit for small dog breeds. The dog carrier can be carried on a shoulder or in hand quite easily and taken to almost all types of places. Meant only for small dog varieties and puppies weighing up to 8 lbs, these pet carrier totes are roomy enough for your pet and are yet light. Most importantly, these are airline approved.

Dog Carrier Bags: These are regular bags which have been custom made to carry small dogs. They have both top and front entry and can be easily slung over the shoulder for transporting your dogs. They can also be buckled up inside your car seat.
