Groom Your Dog Yourself with Pet Grooming Clippers, Dog Brushes, and Nail Clippers
A dog is truly said to a man’s best friend. A dog is unreservedly loyal and will never stab you in the back or deceive you. A pet dog will not ask for much in return. It just requires love, attention and a great deal of personal care. Grooming is one of the things that are essential for a dog’s overall health and well-being.

There are some breeds that require very little grooming. The Basenji is a dog breed that requires no grooming besides an occasional rub down with a damp cloth. Some shorthaired breeds require very little grooming and do no shed a lot of hair. At the most, you require having their nails clipped periodically to prevent injury and ingrown toenails. An ingrown toenail can be very painful and you can prevent it by clipping your dog’s nails.

Certain breeds that have long ears require having their ears cleaned or wiped with a damp cloth to prevent infection.

If your dog has long hair then you should have it brushed regularly. This helps to remove dead hair and prevents the hair becoming entangled or matted. It will also help to stimulate blood supply to the skin and keep the skin free of ticks and other parasites. Some breeds may require their long hair to be professionally trimmed on a periodic basis. You should sprinkle a good quality flea powder while brushing your dog. Remember that most dog breeds need to have a bath only when it is necessary. This prevents drying out of the skin.

Grooming is a great way for you to become closer to your pet dog. You should start grooming your pet from a young age. Grooming requirements differ from one breed to another. It is a good idea to search the internet or ask your vet about the grooming requirements for your pet dog.
