Puppy Bad Breath
Dogs are a part of the canine family that has as its members, wolves, foxes and hyenas. Dogs have been domesticated over the years. They are now used to eating what human beings provide them. As a result, they have lost their natural instincts to hunt their own food. As a result, dental decay has become an issue with pet dogs.

As owners of pet dogs, we should realize that looking after the dental health of our dogs is as important as looking after other aspects of canine health. Our puppies and pet dogs can suffer from dental problems. One of the symptoms that a puppy is suffering from a dental problem is bad breath.

It is very common for puppies and grown up dogs to have bad breath. Although bad breath may be the result of other problems such as gastrointestinal maladies, chances are that tooth decay is the reason. Bad breath is a very significant symptom of tooth decay.

When a puppy eats soft and pulpy food, tartar tends to accumulate on the teeth. This may result in the inflammation of gums and a condition called gingivitis. In order to prevent this problem, you should get your pup used to the brush and toothpaste habit from a very young age. This will accustom the puppy to the ritual of having its teeth brushed.

All dogs like to chew on things. This tendency is very evident during a dog’s growing years when it is teething. Provide your pup with chew toys. These toys will help not only to ease the pain involved with teething, but will also help the dog to keep its teeth clean and healthy.

Dental care and hygiene is as important in puppies as it is with humans. Taking good care of your dog’s teeth will add years to the dog’s life and prevent it from catching a number of infections.
