Importance of Training Your Boxer
The boxer is one of the noblest and intelligent of canine breeds. Its appearance is deceptive and gives the impression that it is an aggressive kind of dog. If a boxer is trained in an intelligent, sensitive and tactful way, then nothing is further from the truth and this breed can become a fiercely loyal, protective, and friendly dog.

Training your boxer, is however not an easy task, but is well worth the rewards. It is a stubborn animal and has the tendency to take the upper hand when you try to dominate it. The trick is to start training your boxer from a young age, as early as fourteen weeks. The older they get, the more difficult it will become for you to train it for anything.

The boxer can be a very friendly dog, provided it is in the company of other people and dogs from a young age. If you are a first time owner of a boxer, then getting your pet animal a professional trainer or getting it enrolled in training classes is a very good idea. Like all intelligent canine breeds, this breed requires attention and needs to be trained.  You have to strike a balance between the attention and the training that you provide it.

Excessive attention without proper training and harsh training without tact, both approaches may have adverse effects on the animal’s behavior. This is not very easy to do, as you have to show the animal that you are the leader and the top dog, without alienating or discouraging it.

An improperly trained and socialized pet boxer may exhibit aggressive symptoms or abnormal behavior that becomes difficult to control beyond a certain age. Simply put, a pet boxer can be a wonderful companion and loyal friend if you train and socialize it with members of the family and other dogs from a very young age.
