Blue Heeler puppies, popularly known as Australian Cattle puppies are an outcome of cross breeding between the Dalmatian and Collie breeds.

This breed was initially meant to herd cattle flocks. This breed, ever since the early nineteenth century have proven to be a good substitute for fencing, as they are equally effective in herding and keeping cattle in control.

This breed is known to be very agile and yet very quiet in nature. Dogs of this breed are wary of newcomers or strangers. However, they behave well with people who are familiar and happen to be very loyal to their owners.

The puppies of this breed have a tendency to bite if provoked. They should be trained to tolerate  pranks of kids if they happen to be a family pet. They need extensive training to get domesticated as family pets. Early training is very important for this breed.

This breed is very tough and is good at what the work it is supposed to do. The dogs of this breed are very hardy as they do not suffer from genetic disorders. The puppies have either a solid blue or red colored coat and appear to be very striking in appearance.

This breed is suitable for a family, provided it is trained well and from an early age. The puppies are very energetic and require a lot of exercise. The owners should pay attention to the specific needs of dogs of this breed.

As a surveillance dog, they are very good. Due to this capability, these puppies are recommended especially for farm houses and people living in open country. Owners of this breed should ensure that the dogs get enough workouts and outdoor activity.

At the time of selecting a dog of this breed, you should familiarize yourself with the kind of training and handling the breed requires.  Puppies that are excessively aggressive should not be chosen for your family as a pet. The breed looks deceptively small as they are very strong and alert.  By any measure, dogs of this breed are not nasty or unduly aggressive.

If provided with proper care, feeding, exercise and handling they can be very good natured pets for your home.
