Anatolian dogs are among some of the best breeds of guard dogs. These dogs are commonly seen in fur of fawn color with black facial mask. The brave canine is commonly bred to guard sheep and goat flocks. These dogs are natural guards. They are very observant, loyal, brave, responsive and intelligent.

Anatolian dogs have long hair coat. Dog grooming of this breed is not an easy process. The dog is 27-29 inches in height. These dogs are very agile. They are known for the fact that these dogs are light pawed. Stalking comes naturally to them. The movements of these dogs are well-balanced and graceful.

Anatolian dogs are famous in Europe and the United Kingdom. They have also been registered by AKC (American Kennel Club) as a member of the working group. The  behavior of this dog is very possessive for his flock. The dog is known to become menacingly aggressive when its flock is in danger. They can also turn aggressive in self defense.

The Anatolian dogs belong to independent breed. They are not meant to be used as  accessory dog. They like open environs and are not quite the apartment type. They are very faithful. However theses dogs do not like to get confined in the four walls of your home. They just love to be outside.

Pet care guidelines suggest that dog lovers should not take this dog as a regular pet. It needs to be socialized and loves to be surrounded by others. It is very possessive for its owners and its flock. This dog does not hesitate at all and it can hurt anyone who is intended to bring trouble to its flock or owner.
