Airedale puppies were originally bred for hunting. These large pups are known for the fact that they are very hardy from their birth. They draw their roots from Aire Dale in Yorkshire, England. They have broken coat. These pups require dog grooming  on a regular basis.  Another  Its a wiry top coat with soft and smooth undercoat. Airedale puppy does not shed hair heavily like other dogs with regular coat.

They are robust, long-legged and have a large stature.  The appearance of these dogs can be considered similar to that of of wild dogs. Weighing between 44-50 pounds, they are almost 22-24 inches tall. These puppies have the largest teeth in the terrier group. Due to their sharp and strong teeth, they are  known to have  been and are being used for guard purposes, retrieving and hunting. Professionals and experts are also known  to train dogs of this breed as bird dogs, military dogs, police dogs and alike.

Dog behavior is stubborn, courageous and ferocious in Airdales. They are very intelligent and can become the perfect watch dogs or guard dogs. They are very loyal and reliable. Once adopted, they become fully committed to you. They protect you and your property with their life.

When it comes to the health of this breed  they are prone to a very common disease called hip dysplasia. Proper dog feeding and pet care will help these dogs to live for as long as 12 years and more in some cases.
