Greyhound puppies are one of the most sought after dog puppies. The origin of this breed could be traced back to early 15th century. Amongst different varieties it is the Italian Greyhound that happens to be the most popular one. The pups of this breed could be an ideal pet dog for people living in small homes as the dog loves a familial environment.

Most of the rulers of medieval world were very much fond of these small dogs. The breed has adorned a good number of royal courts worldwide. Keeping in mind its association with the nobility and aristocracy, these dogs are still preferred by many dog owners today. One of the notable features of the greyhound is that it is a racing dog. It is amongst the fastest running of dog breeds. In fact a thoroughbred greyhound can reach a running speed of 45 mph.

However, the breed is susceptible to health problems, especially problems related to the ear. These dogs also fall prey to cold conditions. Hence, they must be provided with all winter accessories. They need to be taken to a veterinarian regularly for proper care.

Although these dogs as well as puppies are physically not that strong they happen to be very courageous. They normally weigh around ten to sixteen pounds. The height of Greyhound puppies vary from 12 to 16 inches. They easily get along with family and children.

Pet care is of extreme importance with this breed as these dogs happen to be very delicate.
The breed also happens to be very restless so they require daily dosage of workouts. Greyhound puppies also need to be given proper training.

People love this breed because of its very beautiful and expressive eyes. However, the breed is not a very efficient family watch dog.  These dogs have a tendency to jump over anything that they found attractive. So all delicate things in house should be kept beyond their reach.
