A Chihuahua Can Be a Wonderful Pet
A Chihuahua is a very good choice of dog breed if you are looking for a loyal, intelligent and cute puppy for you and your family. Chihuahuas are counted amongst the breeds of small dogs and they were introduced to the world by the Chinese. Weighing just 2 pounds, they are amongst  the smallest of toy dog breeds.

A Chihuahua comes in various colors. Tan and black, brown and fawn are few common colors in which the breed is available.  Puppies of this breed in chocolate color are in great demand.

The Chihuahua is a dog with small, stout body, round apple shaped head and dark eyes. These dogs are very fragile and delicate and you need to be very careful while handling them. They are very fond of their owners. You may often see them licking their owner's face in love and affection. This is an innate behavioral trait in dogs of this breed.

Love for their owners often makes them wary of strangers and animals. Thus, in order to keep your Chihuahua comfortable with animals and people, you should keep it in the company of other animals and people from a young age. Your Chihuahua will get used to company.

Chihuahuas need special care because they are very small and can be hurt by moving objects easily. They should be kept away from small children as children may inadvertently hurt them. To train dogs of this breed, you need to put in some efforts as they are slightly difficult to train. Even for potty training, you need to be slightly patient.

Dog grooming of Chihuahuas is easy. You just need to brush them once a week as they do not shed a lot of hair. If you take care of your pet Chihuahua, they can live for a life span of up to 15 years.
