They can also develop skin problems through molds, pollens, fleas. Apart from this they can also develop allergy from the common dog food ingredients. Also their skin may catch some infection due to a change of season.

If your dog has a skin infection it will lick its paws excessively or paw at its ears or scratch its body. In case if the allergy is very serious the dog can also develop some hot spots on its body.

Ear infection is one of the other common health problems in dogs. It is especially common in species that have floppy ears. The infection is accompanied by a foul smell which is very strong. If your dog has this infection it will shake its head and scratch its ears regularly. The infection will cause the ear to become red and in some cases swollen.
