Dogs are known to be man’s best friend. If our pet dog becomes anxious then we should know what to do in order to reduce the dog’s anxiety. Dogs may become anxious for a number of reasons. A dog may become anxious if it is ill, it has to travel or it is locked inside a car amongst a host of other reasons.

When a dog becomes anxious, it may show symptoms of strange or neurotic behavior. It may start barking incessantly and loudly. This helps to reduce the anxiety in the pet animal and it is reassured that you are not far away.

Thunderstorms and loud noises such as fireworks are some other reasons that a dog becomes anxious. Many dogs dive for cover straight under a bed when there is a thunderstorm.

There are a number of  herbal remedies that you can give to your pet dog in order to control anxiety. These medicines do not have side effects and they help to soothe the animal’s frayed nerves. Peppermint oil can also help to reduce the anxiety of your dog, to a certain extent.
