Dogs, just like any other living creatures are prone to illness. With a little bit of knowledge, training and experience you can easily identify these ailments.

With proper information about various symptoms, you can check if your dog is ill and take it to a vet for treatment. By observing the symptoms you can judge the type of illness that your pet dog may be suffering from. Once you observe these symptoms, call up your vet and if needed take your pet for a visit.

Each illness has different symptoms. You could check the heartbeat and temperature of your pet on either a regular basis or when you feel that it is ill. Observe the behavior of your dog. Check if it is trembling, has fatigue or is anxious. One of the most common symptoms that dogs exhibit when they are not well is incessant barking and whining.

A pet dog with abdominal pain usually looks constantly towards its tummy. Internal pains among puppies may lead to aggressive behavior. You should observe if your pet has become unduly aggressive. There are other symptoms that you should look for such as coughing, red or swollen eyes, weight loss and lack of appetite. Excessive scratching may indicate a flea infection amongst other problems.

Once you get to know these symptoms, you should get your dog treated. Make sure that it receives proper and timely medication. You can keep a stock of common medicines that can be used in case of certain medical problems.

If your dog is pregnant then make sure that it is feeding properly and is not exhibiting any indication of illness.
